Enriching Communities

As a good neighbor and responsible corporate citizen, we understand our responsibility to give back to the communities where we operate in a meaningful way. We collaborate with organizations that share our goals of promoting sustainability and supporting local economic development. Our focus is on building lasting relationships through engaging partnerships, volunteering and direct financial contributions.

Approach

Crestwood’s social investment strategy takes a strategic and risk-based approach and considers the unique needs and aspirations of each community.

Crestwood’s social investment initiatives are developed to align with our four giving areas:

In 2022, we continued to implement an all-employee and executive compensation key performance indicator that encourages community volunteerism. We exceeded our 2022 goal of 2,000 volunteer hours by more than 40 percent. Additionally, we continued our focus on progressing DEI efforts in our communities, with 58 percent of our charitable donations going to DEI organizations.

The Board of Directors' Sustainability Committee reviews and approves our social responsibility and investment efforts, with the president providing oversight for all activities. Annually, we collaborate with local employees to explore investment opportunities that align with our four giving areas.

In 2022, we exceeded our goal of 2,000 volunteer hours by more than 40 percent.

Shining a Spotlight on Mental Health Awareness

Crestwood solidified our commitment to supporting mental health in our communities by making a series of donations in honor of World Mental Health Day in 2022. One in five Americans experience a mental illness in any given year, and since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health has become a significant issue across the globe. By contributing $30,000 to various organizations across our asset base, we support life-saving programs for those struggling with mental health, as well as increase mental health awareness. In 2023, we plan to continue this support and explore options to expand our partnership with organizations such as Mental Health America of Greater Houston.

Volunteer Efforts

Our employees remain dedicated to serving their local communities by contributing both their time and specialized skills. Each year, Crestwood employees are eligible to receive up to eight hours of paid time off to volunteer at organizations of their choosing.

In 2022, Crestwood employees volunteered more than 2,800 hours.

Each year, we recognize our employees’ commitment to volunteerism by providing a nominated individual with a Volunteer of the Year Award. This recognition was awarded to Cyndi Franks in 2022.

Crestwood Voice

I am honored to be selected as the 2022 Volunteer of the Year! I was always taught to give your time, talent and resources back to your community, and I love that I work for a company that shares those same values. The eight hours Crestwood allots employees annually to volunteer is an incredible benefit that allows me to support charities near and dear to my heart. I am proud to make a difference in the communities where we live and serve through volunteering.

Building a Future Pipeline of Talent

A Black Girls Do Engineer panel hosted by Crestwood

Our goal is to always explore and support new and innovative initiatives and community partners. In 2022, we partnered with Black Girls Do Engineer, an organization that focuses on developing young black female students ages 6 – 21 in all areas of STEM by providing mentoring, personal growth opportunities, guidance on career paths and opportunities to participate in STEM activities.

In 2022, Crestwood was the title sponsor of Black Girls Do Engineer’s First Annual Future of STEM Conference. The half-day event included over 100 female students and a women-led panel that highlighted the importance and possibilities for females in various STEM careers. Three of our Crestwood female engineers volunteered as panelists, sharing their experiences and expertise with participants.

Matching Gift Program

Crestwood’s matching gift program continues to be a crucial aspect of our social investment initiative. We match the contributions made by employees and retirees to eligible organizations on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to a limit of $5,000. Our third-party platform raises awareness about the program and simplifies the donation process for employees. In 2022, our matching program contributed approximately $142,000 to organizations making a positive impact on society.

Expanding our Giving in the Delaware Basin

The Crestwood team standing behind a glass sign of the Crestwood logo

Crestwood's acquisition of Sendero Midstream presents a significant opportunity to strengthen our community partnerships in the Delaware Basin. We recognize the importance of maintaining these strategic partnerships, and our support for organizations like the Boys & Girls Club has helped us establish a strong connection with the city of Carlsbad, New Mexico. In addition to financial contributions, our employees exhibit a strong culture of volunteerism, supporting local first responders, students and educators, among others.

Through the Crestwood scholarship program, we provided $130,000 over three years to students at the University of Texas Permian Basin who are pursuing post-secondary STEM-related degrees. In 2023, we plan to expand the scholarship program to Southeast New Mexico College.

Crestwood aims to build upon these established relationships and further formalize our giving and commitment to the region, while also exploring possibilities to expand our impact to additional organizations within our priority areas.

Anti-Human Trafficking

All Crestwood employees and businesses in our supply chain are required to agree with and adhere to our Anti-Human Trafficking Policy.

Crestwood continues to support Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), a nonprofit organization focused on educating, equipping, empowering and mobilizing members of the trucking, bus and energy industries to combat human trafficking. The TAT training was completed by all Crestwood employees in 2021 and continues to be available for new employees. For additional information about TAT, please see the TAT Case Study in our 2021 Sustainability Report
